VSC shortlisted for Best In-House Caterer Award

The Victory Services Club has been named a finalist in the Best In-House Caterer – Venue Operated category at the London Venue & Catering Awards 2026.

It’s wonderful recognition for Executive Chef Paul Mattocks and our talented in-house catering team, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make so many occasions at the Club special – from member events and military reunions to private dining, conferences and celebrations.

During 2025 alone, the team served more than 84,000 covers, while continuing to deliver the quality, flexibility and warm hospitality that members and guests have come to expect from VSC.

There’s plenty to be proud of beyond the kitchen too. The Club holds Gold EcoSmart accreditation, keeps food waste to just 2–5%, grows herbs in its rooftop garden and continues to invest in developing culinary talent – with two members of the team taking second and third places in the 2025 League of Chefs Pastry Competition.

Mark Field, General Manager of the Victory Services Club, said: “Being named a finalist is wonderful recognition for Paul and the entire catering team. They combine skill, creativity and flexibility with a genuine commitment to making every guest feel welcome, whatever their individual requirements. What makes their work particularly special is that every successful event also contributes to our charitable mission, helping us provide welfare support and respite breaks for serving and former members of the Armed Forces and their families.”

Most importantly, the success of our catering and events operation helps support the Club’s charitable mission and our Armed Forces community – making this recognition something the whole VSC community can celebrate.

Congratulations to Paul and the entire catering team – a fantastic achievement and thoroughly deserved recognition for such a great Club team.
