Festival of Winter Walks

The Festival of Winter Walks was created by Britain’s walking charity, Ramblers (www.ramblers.org.uk/) and is coming back this year from the 20th to the 5th of January 2020.

Ramblers group are offering free walking tours across the UK to give you the chance to enjoy the many wonders of England's landscapes and to meet new friends.

Walking have many health benefits such as reducing your risk of developing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis and some cancers. By Joining Ramblers Walks, you will not only improve your health but also make new connections with like-minded people. 

With paths to suit all abilities, this is a great opportunity to wrap up and to put your walking shoes on!

Of if you are more of a lonely wolf, here's a list of beautiful walks you can do by yourself and/or with your family:

1. Soho Christmas Walk 

If you want to bask in the glow of the holiday season in London and burn calories at the same time, Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road is the perfect Christmas stroll for you!

2. Little Venice 

Little Venice is one of the nicest places in London and easily reachable from the VSC. Walk along the canal path and wander along the impressive houseboats in this gorgeous winter scenery. 

3. Hampstead Heath 

Hampstead Heath is one of the highest spots in London and boasts an abundance of nature and beautiful parks. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place to be on a Saturday afternoon. 

4. Richmond Park 

The Tamsin Trail is the main walking path in Richmond Park and the best way to discover everything that Richmond has to offer. The park is bursting with wildlife and deer's. A perfect stroll to escape the hassle and bustle of the city and to reconnect with nature. 

5. South Bank 

The Queen's Walk is a promenade located on the southern bank of the River Thames. It is said to be one of the best walks to grasp the beauty of London. You will walk pass through the City Hall, Tower Bridge, the London Eye and many more attractions. 

6. St James's Park 

St James Park is a beautiful space located just right next to Buckingham Palace. The park is full of wildlife and is an amazing spot for relaxing walks. The view from the bridge of the palace is one of the tourists favourite photo spots!
