Carisbrooke Hall Refurbishment

After a three-month refurbishment project, the Carisbrooke Hall is now officially open again and is available for hire.

The Carisbrooke Hall is our largest event room and can accommodate up to 300 guests, providing the ideal solution for receptions, parties, conferences or weddings.

Décor theme

The décor used in the newly refurbished Carisbrooke Hall is themed around the popular Art Deco style, which was a huge trend during the 1910s through to the 1940s. This classical theme is focused on highly stylised natural, geometric forms and ornaments, with strong symmetry.

Specialist Hospitality Designers, Parker Liddell, were commissioned to lead the design of the room. They created a beautiful reflection of the Art Deco era, with an essence of sophistication evident in the intricate details including the polished chrome bespoke light fixtures and chandeliers and the new wall panelling with off-black mouldings, which complete the theme of the event space.

The doorways further add a sense of elegance with their off-black ribbed architraves, emphasised by a high-level stepped deco picture rail that runs around the hall, which creates horizontal emphasis and banding.

The artwork and mirrors complement the theme, with their black and silver colour scheme. In line with the Club’s military heritage, the artwork is themed around entertainment of troops ranging from WWII until present day, which adds a sense of the Club’s legacy.

The Art Deco theme overflows into the bar with a limestone-effect floor with contrasted dark inset border to the perimeter, and the upholstery to the refurbished banquette seating brings in black and ivory geometric deco-inspired patterns. However, the centrepiece of this space is the bar itself with a polished black granite and limestone bar, which adds a touch of glamour.
