The Best Things To Do In London This Summer 2022

It's always fun to be in London during summer, but summer 2022 will be particularly special since London will be celebrating the Platinum Jubilee. The start of the year saw celebrations across the capital, including the Party at the Palace, the incredible display of Trooping the Colour and the Platinum Jubilee Pageant . A big highlight for many across the capital was the flyby performed by our armed forces.

Although the jubilee weekend has passed, events will continue across the capital to mark this historic year. Also, there will be plenty more for grown-ups and little ones too! 

Outdoor culture in London: Summer 2022

In London, when the sun shines, the roof is taken off. If it rains, you get wet — it's all part of the British summertime fun. 


As summer is upon us, so is an increase in pop-up outdoor cinemas across the capital. There are too many to choose from, from themed events to riverside watching areas. Take a look at this guide to outdoor cinemas in London this summer.


Summer by the River, an open-air festival on the south bank of the Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, returns this year with a 1930s Miami theme. The schedule includes open-air gigs, theatre shows, film screenings, bingo and karaoke nights, and a pop-up bar and restaurant.


Once again, Underbelly Festival has two London locations, at Earl's Court and Cavendish Square. You can book circus, comedy, and cabaret shows in advance or turn up to enjoy the open-air food and drinks. May-July 2022


Sculpture in the City brings all sorts of weird and wonderful creations to the Square Mile. The free, open-air art trail has works by 19 different artists, with one piece already on display in Aldgate Square. From 21 June


The Greenwich and Docklands International Festival returns for two weeks of outdoor theatre, art, dance, and circus. The complete 2022 programme has been revealed, including a rainbow island of foam taking over Greenwich Peninsula. from 26 August-11 September 2022

Family-friendly things to do in London: Summer 2022
