uniqlo tate play

A free activity to entertain the kids this summer. This summer, UNIQLO Tate Play invites you to draw on banners and all over the floor of the Turbine Hall in an ever-changing artwork, Mega Please Draw Freely, by artist Ei Arakawa. Your drawings will combine with the drawings of others – those who came before you and those who came after you – to create this living mega artwork! We will hang the banners up each Monday for everyone to see.

KidZania

Designed for children aged 4 to 14, KidZania is an indoor city with immersive play areas that combine learning with fun.

Working collaboratively and independently, they are empowered to discover their passions, talents and skills through a range of educational, exciting and immersive experiences that are different every time they visit.

There are many jobs available for kids to discover, from an airline pilot to an actor, firefighter to DJ. Kids can work, play, earn and learn while having fun.

An added bonus is that KidZania is based at Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush, so you can just hop in the Central Line to get there.

Discovery Days in Hyde Park

Discovery Days take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the school holidays at The LookOut Discovery Centre in the heart of Hyde Park.

Their expert learning team run a range of free and exciting nature-inspired activities for families. You could be pond dipping, helping your children discover an underwater world, sweep netting in our meadow or bug hunting at our minibeast hotel.

The activities are suitable for the whole family to enjoy, allowing you and your children to connect with nature together (and giving you the chance to find your inner child!).

Bank of England Museum

The Bank of England Museum, is an interactive museum with lots of hands-on activities. You can actually hold a 12 kg gold bar in your very hands and also take a selfie in the gold corridor. It leads to an underground vault that holds 40,000 gold bars.

Don’t forget to take a photo in front of the Bank of England which appeared in the movie Mary Poppins Returns.

The London Pass

The London Pass is a great way to save money when visiting attractions around London, the pass will allow you access to over 80 fantastic attractions. You can download the pass app onto your phone. The London Pass works in consecutive days rather than 24 hour periods, so starting early in the day is a good idea to make the most of it. All you have to do is select the number of consecutive days you want.

River Thames Boat Trip

Taking an Uberboat has never been easier!

Hop aboard at Westminster Pier and sail down the Thames to Greenwich where you can immerse yourself in Maritime history. On your way to Greenwich you’ll be able to spot all the sights including Tower Bridge, the Gherkin, and Canary Wharf to name a few. The boats leave from Westminster Pier frequently and it makes for a great day out.
