Improvements to be made in 2012
Media: Memorial Wing Refurbishment Project
Date: Jan 2012
You may recall that in the last ClubTalk the Chairman mentioned that we are hoping to refurbish the Memorial Wing accommodation we would like to inform you that this project is now underway. Floors 2, 3 and 4 will be done in this phase with other floors being tackled the year after, funds permitting. Phase 1 is to be completed by 9th April 2012.
The refurbishment to the bedrooms will include air conditioning, secondary windows (to help with noise reduction), new bathrooms, telephones, furnishings and furniture. We hope to keep prices much as they are now but there may be some small increases and adjustments to prices where necessary.
The work will be carried out from 9am to 5pm daily, with a break for lunch. Noisy work will be done from 10am to 4 pm and the lead contractor is Frederick Sage Co Ltd, the same company who did such a good job on the ground floor refurbishment.
Should you need to sleep during the day during this project, we advise that you to ask for a room in the Centenary Wing to avoid being disturbed and please book well in advance where possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this work may cause but we feel the results will be well worth it. At the Victory Services Club we will always endeavor to improve our standards for members of the military community, and ensure that our guests are as comfortable as possible.
We are continuing to fundraise for the Memorial Wing project so that we can begin work on the rest of the rooms. If you would like to make a donation to this project, please call our Membership Secretary, Imran Raza on 020 7616 8355 or make a cheque payable to ‘Victory Services Club and send it to:
