Lance Corporal Katrina Hodge

Lance Corporal Katrina Hodge saved lives of her fellow soldiers in Basra to receive a commendation for bravery.
In 2005 Katrina was deployed in Iraq with 1st Battalion The Royal Anglican Regiment. Trained as a female searcher she was with her team in Basra where her patrol had selected a suspected insurgent. On leaving the area their vehicle was involved in an accident and was flipped over. Seizing the opportunity to escape the detainee grabbed two rifles and pointed them at Katrina and her fellow soldiers. In a split second decision, Katrina lunged forward and punched the insurgent, knocking him to the ground and enabling her to seize the weapon. Katrina’s quick thinking saved the lives of her comrades. Katrina made headlines with her participation in Miss England 2008 where she finished in an impressive 5th place after winning Miss Tunbridge Wells. Katrina is currently a military clerk with the Adjutant Generals Corps and continues modelling in her spare time.
