Theatre & Performances
There is always lots to do and see in London, here are 2 links you may find useful:
Here are a few of our picks, if you are looking for some inspiration.
Privates On Parade
You’ll love the story of cross-dressing Captain Dennis, whose superb performances of Marlene Dietrich, Vera Lynn and Carmen Miranda form the backbone of this crazy award-winning comedy set against the horrifically un-funny backdrop of the cruel and brutal Malaysian campaign, which took place at the end of World War Two.
The Audience
A thoughtful and imaginative exploration of what could have happened during the Queen’s private meetings with British Prime Ministers through the decades.
For the past sixty years Elizabeth the second has met the Prime Minister every week, for an audience at Buckingham Palace. Her reign spans twelve Prime Ministers, each very different and each with their own set of unique challenges. The private audiences also chart the Queen’s remarkable life, from the post -war years when she was young mother to the later years of the second Elizabethan Age. Politicians come and go, but HRH remains constant, waiting to welcome her next Prime Minister.
The show is opened for a limited season until 15 June 2013.
War Horse
Based on a children’s story by the former children’s Laureate Michael Morpurgo, whose chance encounter with an old soldier and a painting of cavalry horses inspired the book, War Horse’s outstanding puppetry has received an enormous amount of critical acclaim.
Considering it’s a relatively simple story of a boy and his horse, War Horse has won an astonishing number of awards.
